Their Brains Attuned to Easy Protein.

Greasy Clouds of Seretide Cling to the Pavements;
Cognizant Lungs Hoover the Slime,
The Sun is Caught Within an Onion Jar;
Stalled & Stuck - Suspended in Old Salt.

A Church Appears on the Horizon;
Its Detached Bell Pokes Through the Rafters,
Rooftop Copper - Blue and Corroded,
You Can Smell the Rain 3 Miles Away;
Due to Doomsday Acidity.

There's a Figure Hanging 'Round St. Andrew's Square;
Selling Expired Post Cards and Canisters of Bottled Air,
His Boney Fingers Vibrate and Click and Creak;
Producing a Gated Shriek for the Ones Who'd Linger there...

The Sound Escapes and then Grows Weak,
Strange the Difference in a Week,
He Takes Requests but Won't Play Slayer,
